Postojna is a small town in the Pivka Valley, which tourists visit mainly because of one of the most magnificent European caves. The area is favorable for active tourism and there are many hiking and cycling routes.

For many, the name Postojna is synonymous with the cave. Numbering just over 9 thousand. of residents, the city is primarily a base and accommodation base for arriving tourists. More interesting monuments are in the area, including Predjama Castle, built above another of the many local caves.
