ÜBERLINGEN tourist attractions

Überlingen is a tourist and health resort on Lake Constance. It has preserved historic buildings and several beaches with bathing areas. The entertainment and social life of the season focuses on the Promenade.

The town was founded in the 8th century, and from the 13th century it became a Free City of the Reich. In the 19th century, tourism began to develop here. It was related to the growing popularity of recreation in the mountains and the warm mineral springs discovered in the area.

Today's Überlingen is a combination of historic, traditional buildings with modern leisure activities. The most important monuments of the city include the gothic, five-aisle St. Nicholas, the city's defensive walls, the Aufkirch Gate, Galler Towers, the Renaissance town hall and the former grain exchange building now converted into the Greth - Überlingen gallery.

Most visitors to Überlingen enjoy the numerous opportunities for relaxation at Lake Constance. There are two beaches in the city, Ostbad and West Beach. From the harbor, you can take a boat trip on the Bodensee Held, and the popular meeting point is the Überlingen Promenade.

The most important family attraction in the city is the Haustierhof Reutemühle zoo, where visitors can enter some of the runs. Those interested in the history of the city can visit the Überlingen Museum.
