The baroque temple was built in the years 1746-1749 by the architect Peter Thumb. The church has rich furnishings, including frescoes by Gottfried Bernhard Göz as well as stucco and sculptural elements made by one of the Rococo style masters, Joseph Anton Feuchtmayer.
