Meersburg is a historic city on Lake Constance and an important wine production center. Above its picturesque medieval buildings rise the walls of the castle, and the waterfront encourages walking and recreation in the fresh air.

The beginnings of the city date back to the 7th century. Then, at the intersection of trade routes, a stronghold was built around which a merchant settlement developed. Grain, cattle and, above all, wine were traded here. Today, the Vineum Bodensee Museum reminds us of these traditions.

The most visible building in the city is Meersburg Castle. At present, his halls house exhibitions devoted to the history of the area, as well as martial arts and culture. In the town itself there is also the baroque New Castle of Konstancja bishops, in which you can see, among others richly decorated with stucco decorations Castle church.

Below the castle is a tangle of medieval streets and tenement houses that bring to the Port of Meersburg. From here you can take a BSB Bodensee ferry trip. The promenade on the lake is also around the port, which is a popular place for walks. Those looking for rest and relaxation can recommend the local Baths.

In the city, you can also visit several interesting museums, such as the Zeppelin Museum, the court of the Prince of Fürstenhäusle and the Biblical Gallery.
