Saalbach-Hinterglemm is a village in the center of one of Austria's largest ski regions. In total, it has approx. 270 km of perfectly prepared ski slopes and excellent facilities. It is also famous for its wide range of apres ski and is often referred to as the most entertaining resort in Austria.
The village is located in a mountain valley and consists of several interconnected settlements. Their centers have nice, alpine buildings, around which modern hotels, guesthouses and recreation centers are erected. They offer not only accommodation, but also great entertainment and recreational facilities.
In winter, the Skicircus Saalbach-Hinterglemm-Leogang-Fiederbrunn ski area has over 270 km of pistes of various difficulty levels. There are also routes for freeriders and a large snow park. All ski areas within the center are connected by free ski buses. The slopes are served by several dozen cableways and lifts, including the Schattberg X-press, the Zwölferkogelbahn, the Bernkogel, the Reterkogel, the Kohlmais and the Westgipfel.
The resort is also known for its great apres-ski offer. It mainly includes numerous entertainment facilities, bars, restaurants and clubs. Other attractions in Saalbach-Hinterglemm include wellness centers, games rooms, family playrooms, an ice rink, and local companies offer snowshoe hikes and scooter rides.
In summer, the whole area becomes a paradise for people who like mountain hiking. Numerous hiking trails lead to more than 50 shelters located at different heights, and year-round cableways allow you to get to the higher routes.
