The Gran Teatro la Fenice in Venice is one of the most famous opera theaters in the world. It is a real cultural center of the city. For many artists, the performance at this facility is the biggest dream and crown their career. The theater building itself seems inconspicuous; the neoclassical facade is almost devoid of decorations. The interior is decorated with real splendor - we will find rich gilding, frescoes and a wonderful chandelier. In addition to the classical audience, the theater also has five balcony floors divided into spacious lounges.
The name Gran Teatro la Fenice is associated with the figure of the mythical phoenix, which according to ancient beliefs was revived from the ashes. This bird is a symbol of the theater - the building was erected shortly after the fire of the previous theater - San Benedetto. In addition, it was twice destroyed by fire - in 1836 and 1996. The ceremonial opening of the Teatro la Fenice took place in 1792. The first performance staged at his stage was the opera "I giuochi d'Agrigento" - the work of Giovanni Paisiello.
