Gaeta is a city on the Tyrrhenian Sea and a popular holiday resort. There are wide, sandy beaches here, and the area also offers a lot of interesting sights.

Gaeta's location and value were appreciated as early as Roman times. It was one of the favorite places of rest for senators and patricians. In later centuries, the strategic location of the city meant that the stone castle of Angioina-Aragonese was built here. To this day, it remains one of the most important monuments of the city.

Gaeta's Old Town is full of picturesque townhouses and pretty churches, such as the Romanesque Cathedral of St. Erasmus and Marcin. However, Gaeta's biggest attraction lies outside of the city's buildings. This is Monte Orlando Park located on a hill with cliffs lying on the very seashore. In addition to walking paths and viewpoints, it also includes the Mausoleum of Lucius Placus Munazio, the Sanctuary of Montagna Spacceta and the Real Ferdinando Museum from the 1st century.

The beaches here are a big attraction for Gaeta. The largest of them, sandy and wide Serapo beach is very well developed and has great facilities. The 300 steps beach is nevertheless popular, although a bit calmer.
