Bagheria is a town on a small headland, surrounded by a rocky coast with many coves that invite you to relax.

The beginnings of the city are associated with the growing popularity of holiday villas built by the Italian aristocracy. From the mid-17th century, a dozen or so of them were built on a promontory in the place of today's Bagheria. The greatest construction activity took place at the beginning of the 18th century, when the area was ruled by the Savoy dynasty, and then by the Habsburgs. Today, former villas are among the greatest attractions of Bagheria. The most famous are Villa Palagonia, Villa Valguarnera, Villa Cattolica and Villa Spedalotto.

The city consists of a part located in the central part of a rocky headland and a waterfront with a fishing district. There is a small port here with boats painted in vivid colors. Every morning, fishermen leave here to catch fish and seafood, which are then served in local pubs. The coast of the peninsula is full of secluded beaches and coves, where you can relax away from the crowds.
