Waldkirch is a tourist destination in the Black Forest known for the production of mechanical, portable organs, which are still used at fairs and festivals in Germany. There is also a zoo, and the area is conducive to active tourism.
The town has a medieval origin and a lot of traditional buildings have been preserved. Among the monuments are the church of St. Margaret, the ruins of the Kastelburg castle and the market square, where numerous outdoor events take place.
