Lemvig is a town situated in a deep bay of the same name, surrounded by moraine hills and a small lake. A lot of historic buildings have been preserved in it, and in the area there is a fragment of a nice, cliff coast.

The history of the city dates back to the 13th century. Its oldest monument is the Gothic church in Lemvig, which was rebuilt many times afterwards, in the middle of the square. In the neighboring towns, you can also see other historic temples, such as the Trans Church or the Ferring Church. In the center of Lemvig, a lot of buildings from the 18th and 19th centuries have been preserved. Lemvig's attractions also include the local museums, including the modern Museum of Religious Art and the Jens Søndergaards Museum. The historic 18th century building houses the Lemvig Museum with a collection of local history.

The area around Lemvig was shaped by a glacier. There are low, gentle moraine hills that have led the Planetary Path. It is the path along which the sun and the planets of the solar system are distributed at distances that reflect their distance in the universe. The sandy Vejlby Klit Beach stretches along the seashore, where you can walk and relax by the water in the summer. The biggest attractions of the coast are the Klif Bovbjerg and the Bovbjerg Lighthouse, which are located a short distance from Lemvig.
