Dom Ślimaka is a combination of a museum and a cafe. There are two permanent exhibitions in it. The first contains a collection of clams, shells and other marine finds donated by local fishermen. The second is dedicated to Alfred Peresen, who started to create this extraordinary place from 1949. It took him 25 years and was his life's work.
The building owes its name not only to the collection it contains, but above all to the facade decorated with hundreds of shells and snail shells. They form picturesque patterns and pictures, covering almost all walls.
In the cafe you can try home-made cakes, ice cream, waffles or coffee. There is also a souvenir shop where you can buy shells from around the world, amber products, postcards and posters.
