Abelines Gaard
Local name: Abelines Gaard
Abelines Gaard is a historic farmhouse built between 1854-1871. Today it houses a local museum. The farm and the interior of the house look like it was in the first half of the 20th century, when Abeline Christensen, after whom the estate was named, lived there.
The main building is built of red brick in a West Jutland style. It consists of four wings surrounding a paved courtyard. In the 90s of the twentieth century it was renovated and honored by the Europa Nostra federation, acting for the protection of cultural and natural heritage.
Abelines Gaard also has a historic telephone exchange, which was installed in 1894. During the tour, you can listen to recordings of Christensen talking about his daily life and work.
