Durbuy is a picturesque town in the gorge of the Ourthe River. Tourists are attracted by the beautiful location, well-preserved 17th and 18th century buildings and the fame, though not fully confirmed, of "the smallest city in the world".
The town is concentrated in a rocky, narrow gorge. To fully appreciate its location, you can go by tourist train or on foot to the viewpoint. An unusual place is also the rock Falize, whose top is the highest point in the city. The location by the river is perfect for practicing water sports. Kayaking trips are especially popular here.
The historic center includes the market square and the streets that depart from it. They are built with stone houses with restaurants, cafes and souvenir shops. The biggest attraction and main monument of Durbuy is the local castle with medieval roots.
Topiary Park and the Labyrinth of Barvaux-sur-Ourthe are among the attractions and highlights of Durbuy. The first is a vast garden modeled on Baroque and Renaissance parks with trees and shrubs cut into fanciful shapes. The Labyrinth of Barvaux-sur-Ourthe, on the other hand, is a huge corn maze that is created each year in one of the surrounding fields.
