Wolfsberg is a historic city which, thanks to its location, can be a great base for active summer and winter recreation. The area is known for excellent bicycle routes, picturesque hiking trails, and in winter for two intimate ski resorts.

The town was founded in the 12th century and the first mentions of the local castle come from this period. Wolfsberg Castle, the city's biggest attraction, stands on a hill with a nice view of the city. It is originally a gothic building, rebuilt in the 19th century in a style imitating English architecture from the Tudor period. Currently, it houses the local cultural center. Another interesting monument of the city is the Church of St. Mark.

The surroundings of Wolfsberg are very attractive for tourists. They are focused primarily on guests looking for opportunities to practice active tourism. In summer, you can take advantage of almost 1,000 km of well-prepared, diverse bicycle routes, located both in the valleys and higher on the slopes of the mountains. There are also many possibilities for mountain tours, and for adrenaline lovers, the summer toboggan run Klippitztörl awaits.

In winter, there are two ski resorts in the immediate vicinity of Wolfsberg, Klippitztörl and Koralpe. They have a total of over 50 km of ski slopes of various difficulty levels and good accommodation and catering facilities.
