Castle Hill

The massive dolomitic rock Schloßberg, also known as the Castle Rock, is one of the most important historical objects of the city of Graz. The summit can be reached on foot or by elevator, an additional cable car has been operating there since 2000, which also allows disabled people and parents with small children to reach the summit.

On the rock there is a castle, which together with the surrounding park is part of the UNESCO World Heritage. The castle was entered in the Guinness Book of Records as the strongest fortress in history. The most important elements of Schloßberg include the Belfry (34 m high), Tomasz Chapel, Chatka Canatnia, the Chinese Pavilion and the Bastion.
