Pyramidenkogel Tower
Local name: Aussichtsturm Pyramidenkogel
The Pyramidenkogel Lookout Tower has been functioning in its current form since 2013 and is one of the tallest wooden towers in the world - together with the spire it is about 100 m high. You can enter it on foot or use the fast elevator. From the vantage point, there is a beautiful view of the Alps and the nearby Worthersee lake.
The tower is located at an altitude of about 850 meters above sea level. In addition to the tourist function, it also acts as a radio tower. It was built in 1950, but since then it has been rebuilt several times.
From June 2017, the tower is also beautifully illuminated after dark, which adds to its charm and attracts tourists also in the late hours. In the first three years of the tower's creation, it was visited by over a million tourists and local residents.
