Leukerbad is Switzerland's largest thermal spa as well as a large ski resort. They are surrounded by alpine peaks with altitudes exceeding 3,000 m above sea level. In summer, they are perfect areas for mountain hiking, and in winter, there is a large ski resort here.

The ancient Romans already knew hot springs near today's Leukerbad. From the 18th century, a modern health resort based on over 60 local thermal springs began to develop here. Today it is the largest resort of this type in Switzerland. There is a spa with healing facilities, as well as communal swimming and thermal pools, spa and wellness centers. They offer year-round services and are often used to complement the stay of tourists using the local ski slopes.

In winter, Leukerbad has over 60 km of ski and snowboard slopes. They are served by several dozen cable cars and lifts, including the Daubensee cable car, the Gemmi cable car and the Torrent Leukerbad cable car. The resort also has a large sports center with an ice hall, a climbing wall, playgrounds, fitness rooms and a gym.

In summer, the surroundings of Leukerbad are perfect for mountain trips. The big attraction of Leukerbad is the gorge trail leading to the thermal springs. Hot water flows from the springs here, and at the end there is a thermal waterfall.
