Finhaut is a tourist destination in the Vallee du Trient. It is a center of active tourism, especially hiking and cycling. Access to the trails is helped by a system of roller coasters and funiculars, and the town is also located on the Mont Blanck expressway.
In the vicinity of Finhaut there is the dam Lake Emosson with a high, arched dam. A geological trail has been marked out by the lake, which leads to places where you can see dinosaur tracks. There are also many other walking routes in the vicinity, and connectivity and access to the higher elevations are provided by cable cars such as the Panoramic Train, the Du Chatelard and the Chatelard.
The road to Finhaut and Lake Emosson is often on the route of the Tour de France. In 2016, it was even the final episode of the entire event. This place is also eagerly visited by amateur cyclists who try to cope with a steep climb. There are also many off-road cycling routes in the Finhaut area.
