Historical museum founded in 1866. The institution has over 10 million objects that have been excavated or found in today's Sweden. At this point we can admire specimens remembering prehistory, as well as quite modern ones. One of the most impressive exhibitions in the world devoted to Vikings arouses the greatest interest.
The interactive museum consists of several permanent exhibitions as well as temporary exhibitions located on individual floors. We will find here a huge exhibition on the subject of Vikings, Swedish history, medieval art or the memorable Battle of Gotland from 1361. It is also worth visiting the Golden Room, where visitors can see one of the largest collections of gold and silver from prehistory.
Lectures are also held here, and attractions for families with children are organized. The museum has a restaurant and a gift shop.
