Mediterranean Museum founded in 1954. We will find here exhibitions about ancient objects from Europe and the Middle East. It is one of the four national museums in Sweden regarding the culture of other regions of the world. Here, we can explore the mysteries of history, including Ancient Egypt, in an interactive and interesting way.
The museum has also prepared attractions for children: learning how to write hieroglyphs or the possibility of trying on Egyptian costumes. The exhibitions are enriched with the latest 3D technologies to show tourists the interior of Egyptian mummies, previously hidden from the sight of visitors.
The institution was founded on the initiative of King Gustav VI Adolf having archeological education and taking an active part in excavations in, among others Italian. There are artifacts extracted by Swedish groups of scientists. The museum plays not only an exhibition and educational, but also scientific role, constantly conducting research.
