TOLMIN tourist attractions

+5 attractions

Tolmin is a large town on the edge of the Triglav National Park in the Julian Alps. It is beautifully situated on the Soča River, and the area is conducive to active tourism.

The location by Soča gives the whole area not only beautiful views, but also the possibility of practicing water sports, especially whitewater canoeing. An extremely picturesque place is the fork of the Tolminka and Soča rivers. In the sun, the rivers flowing on the limestone base take on an unusual, blue color that seems almost unreal. From Tolmina you can go on a cruise on the Lucia boat to admire the surrounding scenery. The historic bridge over Soča is also very picturesque.

The Julian Alps towering over Tolmin are an inexhaustible source of wonderful views. The Vogel peak is closest to the town, on the slopes of which there is a ski station. Another beautiful place is the Brdar waterfall in Gačnik, which can be reached via a hiking trail.
