The Museum of the Land of the Polish Academy of Sciences is a multipurpose institution that collects geological exhibits, at the same time engaging in research, research and documentation, and popularizing the natural sciences. The museum was founded in 1948 and since 1959 it has been operating within the framework of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Its headquarters are located within the former palace and garden complex "Na Góra". The collection is located in the classicist palace "Frascati" and "Villa Pniewski" built in eclectic style, and some of the exhibits are located in open space.
The museum's resources include: meteorites, tectites, minerals, rocks, ornamental stones, fossils, amber, amber products, fossil resins, organic inclusions, as well as archives on the history of earth sciences. Particularly impressive are the collections of flora and fauna and the display of erratic boulders.
In the museum, thanks to visual materials, we can get acquainted with the geological processes and history of the Earth.
