The Historical Museum has its headquarters in the Royal Castle in Sanok and has been operating since 1934. You can see, first and foremost, collections from the field of ancient and modern art, as well as a beautiful collection of icons. The monument has permanent exhibitions such as Sacred Art, Zdzisław Beksiński Gallery, Church Art and Portrait of the 17th - 19th centuries. Other exhibitions are also: Modern Art, Armory and observation shelter, Pokucka Ceramics, Archeology and Marian Kruczek Gallery.
The property also has a great collection of icons from the 15th century. We will see here, among others portraits from the turn of the 18th and 19th centuries, a collection of ceramics and contemporary works related to the Sanok region, as well as exhibits of sacred art dating back to the 15th century, from old churches and chapels.
