Gallery of Zdzisław Beksiński

In the Historical Museum, which occupies the Sanok Castle, there is a gallery of around 600 works by Zdzisław Beksiński. It is the largest collection of works by this outstanding artist, coming from Sanok. The exhibition shows artistic explorations, versatile development and changes that had been taking place in the master's work. An unforgettable impression is created by the hall in which the artist's Warsaw studio was faithfully recreated. A unique element of the exhibition are the screenings of films and tapes from the Beksińscy private archive, and works of composers appreciated by the artist.

Zdzisław Beksiński is known primarily as a painter, but apart from painting, which is being considered the most valuable in his output, in the museum visitors can also see other type of works of this unique talent. There are, for example, excellent photographs, glass paintings, sculptural works, and computer graphics. An exceptionally moving is the picture that the artist completed on the day of his tragic death.
