Local name: Ławeczka Dobrego Wojaka Szwejka

A bench with a statue depicting Good Soldier Szwejk, the hero of the novel by Jaroslav Hašek, was unveiled in 2003. Its author is the sculptor Adam Przybysz. The life-size statue depicts a soldier smoking a pipe and symbolizes the city's relationship with the former Austro-Hungarian Empire.
