Monument to the Tetrarchs

The monument made of porphyry comes from Asia Minor and is dated that it was built at the beginning of the 4th century AD. In the 13th century the statue was transported from Constantinople and embedded in the facade of the basilica of St. Mark. It depicts Roman rulers joined in an embrace.
