A Renaissance, never fully completed palace erected by the Farnese family ruling in Parma in the 16th century. It served as the seat of the court and other city offices, and later it became the theater. The name of the palace comes from the pelota game played in its courtyard. Currently there are numerous cultural institutions, including National Gallery with painting collections, library, Archaeological Museum and recreated Farnese Family Theater.
