Langenargen is a holiday village on Lake Constance, a popular bathing area and a good starting point for active tourism.
The location on Lake Constance meant that in the 19th century tourism began to develop in Langenargen. Currently, there are beaches and recreational areas by the water, as well as a natural bathing area and a coastal swimming pool connected with a small water park. There is a promenade along the shores, offering nice views and access to numerous bars and restaurants.
The city has its roots in the Middle Ages and from its inception it was an important port on Lake Constance. On the coast, at the port, which is now mainly used for tourists, there is a historic crane. It was used to unload barges and ships.
