La Ciotat is a port city on the Mediterranean Sea. It has a small historic center and a sandy, artificial beach near the port.
The city gained enormous, albeit short, popularity due to one of the first films made by the Lumiere brothers, The Entry of the Train to the La Ciotat Station . During its presentation, viewers fled the cinemas fearing that the train would run out of the screen. The historic building of the railway station can be seen in the city to this day.
The center of La Ciotat is small, with a tangle of narrow streets and tight buildings. There are many restaurants and atmospheric cafes where you can taste delicious cakes with your coffee. Above the old buildings, on the slope of the Du Mugel Mountain, is a beautiful botanical park with Mediterranean vegetation and tropical plants.

Therefore, the big attraction of La Ciotat is the artificial, sandy beach that allows you to relax by the sea. There are beach equipment rentals and good facilities in the form of bars.
