Abbey of Saint Victor

Local name: Abbaye Saint-Victor

The abbey was founded in the fifth century AD by the graves of Christian martyrs, including St. Victor, a Roman legionary who died for faith during the time of Emperor Diocletian. The biggest tourist attraction are the extensive crypts, which contain a large number of sarcophagi and saints from the first centuries of Christianity.
