Nordborg is a small town known primarily as the headquarters of Danfoss, one of the world's largest manufacturers of air conditioning systems. On her initiative, the Science Park, an interactive educational center, is operating here.
The history of the city dates back to the Middle Ages. At that time, Nordborg Castle was built here. It owes its present appearance to the reconstruction from the 19th century. It stands in the picturesque surroundings of a park and a lake, but its interior is not open to the public. They house a boarding school.
The city is surrounded by lakes, including the connected isthmus, Lakes Mjels and Bundsø. They are perfect for active tourism, mainly kayaking and boating. It is also close to the coast with sandy beaches. You can also see the Augustenhof lighthouse here.
Nordborg's biggest attraction is the Universe Science Park. In addition to laboratories, rooms with stands for independent experiments, a sensory garden and a virtual reality center, there is also the Danfoss Museum. You can see there, among others an exhibition dedicated to the founder of the company, Mads Clausen, and to follow the development of the company from a local, small company to the global leader in the air conditioning market.
