Ishøj is a city in the suburbs of Copenhagen with access to sandy beaches and a marina. There is the Museum of Modern Art on an island in a coastal lagoon.
The city includes a coastal area with a lagoon and a sandy spit separating it from the sea. This is where the local beaches are located. Ishøj Beach is a popular vacation spot for Copenhageners. In summer it is visited by sunbathers, and at other times of the year it is perfect for walks.
There is also the Ishøj Harbor in the lagoon, where yachts and sailboats are moored. The island's campsite, restaurants and bars are also nearby. The seaside part of the city is green and encourages you to walk and spend time actively.
An important attraction in Ishøj is the ARKEN Museum of Modern Art. It is located in a futuristic building built on one of the islands. It presents collections of Danish and foreign art from the second half of the 20th and early 21st centuries. In the city, you can also visit the Thorsbro Waterworks Museum.
