Lipno nad Vltava is a holiday resort located on an artificial reservoir formed on the largest of the Czech rivers. Around the village stretch the Sumava Mountains, in which there is an observation tower called the Path in the treetops.
Lipno lies in one of the least human-transformed regions of the Czech Republic, which in the 14th century was designated by the Czech kings as a hunting ground and removed from the possibility of establishing cities. Thanks to this, beautiful natural forests have survived here, among which there are now walking, cycling and cross-country skiing routes. The latter are over 40 km here. One of the newest attractions of the area is the path in the treetops located at a height of 25 m above ground level, with a 40 m high observation tower. From the tower you can get to the ground by stairs or a huge slide.
The most important reason why crowds of tourists come to Lipno is the largest lagoon created in the Vltava in the Czech Republic. On its banks there are a lot of guesthouses and apartments for rent and camping. There are beaches, bathing areas and water equipment rentals.
