Islington Museum
Islington Museum is a public museum dedicated to the history of London's Islington district. There is a gallery here covering nine topics about local and social history. These are: childhood, food and drink, fashion, leisure, healthcare, radicals, care, home and war. Among the exhibited items is the bust of Włodzimierz Lenin, who lived and worked in Clerkenwell, as well as some book covers destroyed by Joe Orton and Kenneth Halliwell.
The Islington Museum was opened in May 2008. Its construction was funded by a £ 1 million grant from the Heritage Lottery Fund. The facility, which replaced the previous museum at Islington City Hall, is now located in the basement of the Finsbury Library. In addition to traditional exhibitions, the museum also hosts lectures and children's events. There is an educational room here where classes for organized groups, including school ones, are organized.
