Sir John Soane's Museum
The John Soane Museum is located in the apartment where the architect had previously lived. Soane was known primarily for his neoclassical designs, and his most famous work was the reconstruction of the Bank of England building. The museum has an extensive collection of works of art, sculptures, as well as drawings, models and projects, with a total of approximately 45,000 exhibits. Of these, nearly 70% are drawings and architectural sketches.
The building in which the museum is located is also designed by Soane, who was considered one of the best and greatest architects of his time. Interestingly, the decision to establish the museum was made during Soane's lifetime, four years before his death. Due to the very bad relationship with his son, the architect legally took care of disinheriting him and preventing him from taking over his property, which he allocated for museum needs.
