Postman's Park
Postman's Park is a park in central London, located a short distance from the Cathedral. St. Paul. There are many benches where you can relax from the hustle and bustle of the city, flower beds and fountains. The place is known for the Memorial to Heroic Self-Sacrifice monument by George Frederic Watts. He worships ordinary people who died to save others. It has the form of several dozen boards, each of which is dedicated to a different hero.
The park was founded in 1880 on the site of the former cemetery and the area belonging to the church of St. Botolph's. Over the next twenty years it was expanded and expanded. From the beginning, this place was very popular among local workers who came to rest here.
Both the park and the Watts monument appear as key elements of the 2004 film "Closer", in which they played, among others Natalie Portman, Julia Roberts and Jude Law.
