Hampstead Heath

Hampstead Heath, also called Heath for short, is a vast park with attractions for both sports and sightseeing fans. You can swim in 3 out of 25 water reservoirs here. Separate bathing areas for men and women have been separated, one is co-educational. From Parliament Hill you can admire the panorama of London. The park also has historic buildings, including a 17th-century mansion, Kenwood House.

The park stretches over an area of about 320 ha, of which a significant part is wooded areas. You can see numerous birds here, including kingfishers and jackdaws, as well as less popular species such as uniforms, turtles and even parrots.

Heath filmed scenes for both costume films such as Mansfield Park and contemporary ones, such as Notting Hill. This place also appears in iconic novels, including Dracula Bram Stoker, It's Stephen King or Woman in the White of Wolf Collins.
