Regent's Park

Regent's Park is one of eight royal parks. It was created in the lands that originally served as a place of recreation for the royal family. On the area of nearly 200 hectares there are fountains, sculptures, a rose garden, a zoo, a summer theater, a lake on which you can swim a rented boat.

In 1828, a zoo was created in the park, the third oldest in the world. Currently, about 650 species of animals can be seen in it. In the northern part of the park is Primrose Hill, with a beautiful view of London. The park impresses with a multitude of flowers. The Quenn Mary's Garden rose garden has the largest collection of roses in London with around 12,000 shrubs in 400 varieties. The park is decorated with stone pots, numerous fountains and sculptures, including a group of bronze sculptures depicting the god of the sea with mermaids at the feet and a sculpture of the mythological Hylas with a nymph - a monument of Class II.

There is a gazebo by the lake, under which the IRA planted a bomb in 1982. 7 members of the orchestra who performed on stage were killed then.
