Primrose Hill

Primrose Hill is a hill in the north of Regent's Park. It is over 60 meters high and is one of the most popular viewpoints in the city. From here you can admire the center of London, the Hampstead district and Belsize Park.

Primrose Hill was parliamentary bill of 1842 secured as an open public stop to serve the poorer residents of North London. From that time until today, it perfectly fulfills its role - it is a place of rest, recreation and even inspiration. At the top of the hill, on the stone pavement, are the words of the poet William Blake, who was talking to the "spiritual sun" ("I have conversed with the spirituals Sun. I saw him on Primrose Hill"). Primrose Hill also performs on the 1993 Blur music video.

An oak was planted on the hillside in 1864 to celebrate the 300th anniversary of Shakespeare's birth. It was an important event that gathered around 100,000 people. In 1964, the tree was replaced by a new one.
