The small but richly decorated cathedral is considered a jewel of neo-Gothic art. Particularly noteworthy are the ceiling paintings and colorful stained glass windows. The chapel was built in the fifteenth century, and owes its name to the relics located in it, associated according to tradition with the Maccabees.
