The exhibitions of the Geneva Museum of Art and History include natural history and archeology, a collection of armaments, jewelry, musical instruments, icons and Byzantine art. The painting part covers works from the Middle Ages to the 20th century and presents works by, among others Rembrandt, Witz, Cézanne, and Modigliani.

The Museum of Art and History in Geneva was founded in 1826, while the foreign headquarters of the museum was built in 1903 - 1910. The author of the building's design is architect Marc Camoletti. The four-storey building was built on a square plan with a side of 60 m, and its total exhibition area is 7000 m².

The facade is decorated with sculptures by Paul Amlen: allegories of art, painting, sculpture, drawing and architecture, on the corners of the building there are allegories of archeology and applied art. The top of the building contains the names of Geneva artists: Dassier, Baud-Bovy, Saint-Ours, Agasse, Töpffer, Liotard, Calame, Diday, Menn, Petitot, Arlaud and Pradier.
