Broc is a tourist town with the seat of the Nestle concern and one of the oldest Swiss chocolate factories, Maison Cailler.
The city is situated in a valley at the foot of the Alps. There are many beautiful places in its vicinity that can be reached by hiking trails. One of them are the Jogne gorges, in which there are routes along the piers and footbridges suspended over the rushing river. At the end of the gorge is the Montsalvens dam lake with a dam built in 1920.
Broc's biggest attraction is the Chocolate Museum at Maison Callier. At the beginning of the 20th century, the factory became part of the Nestle concern, but today it also produces its products. In the historic buildings, you can see the historic production line, learn the secrets of making sweets and the products of the local factory.
Another interesting place in Broc is the Electrobroc Museum located in a historic but still working hydroelectric plant. It shows how electricity production looked like in the past and introduces issues related to hydropower.
