Lomma is a coastal city that is currently developing as a tourist center and industrial and service center. It has a nice sandy beach and a large marina adapted to accommodate yachts and sailing boats.
The first records of the Lomma port date back to the 11th century. Until the beginning of the 13th century, there was a thriving commercial and port center here. In later centuries, its importance declined due to competition from other coastal towns. The rebirth of the city took place in the 19th century, but as an industrial center, where bricks were produced, and later also cement and asbestos.
From the mid-twentieth century, Lomma began to focus more and more on tourism. There is a wide, sandy beach with good facilities and a wooden pier. There are also many hotels and guesthouses in the city.
A big attraction is the natural Lomma harbor, where sailboats and yachts are moored in the season. There are numerous seasonal bars and restaurants around the marina. You can also use the green areas surrounding the city with hiking and biking trails as well as marked picnic areas.
