The Lázaro Galdiano Museum in Madrid was created thanks to the will of the Spanish art collector named after him. You can see the works of such masters as: Francisco Goya, Jerome Bosch, El Greco or Diego Velázquez.

In addition to the collection of Spanish paintings, the museum also has examples of works by British artists, including Peter Lely, John Constable and Joshua Reynolds. The collection is completed by the works of the American painter Gilbert Charles Stuart.

The museum collection has over 12,500 exhibits, it was made available to visitors in the former residence of José Lázaro Galdiano and his wife, it is the neo-Renaissance palace of Parque Florido. About 20,000 volumes were collected in the library. Lázaro Galdiano died in 1947, handing over his collection to the state, the museum opened four years later.
