Seixal is a village whose surroundings provide the best of Madeira. There are beaches, high rocky shores, waterfalls falling straight into the sea and a natural sea pool.
The town is small, beautifully situated among greenery and rocks. One of the most beautiful beaches in the north of Madeira, Plaza Seixal, is located here. It is covered with dark sand and surrounded by green slopes. In addition to it, there is also Lages beach and Laje beach. One of the most important attractions of Seixal, a natural swimming pool formed in a former crater, is located on the latter.
Traces of volcanic activity are visible in this area also in other places. There are volcanic rocks here, steep slopes falling down cliffs straight into the sea. The Veu da Noiva waterfall flows out of one of them. The surroundings of the village encourage walks. You can walk, among others the pool viewpoint or the Avista Navios point from which you can see a large part of the coast. The Fanal forest park is a great place for recreation.
