Faial is a small town in Madeira and a holiday resort. There is a dark, volcanic beach, swimming pools, and the area is famous for its beautiful views and cliff coast.

The town was founded in the 16th century and initially played a significant role in the Portuguese presence in Madeira. With time, however, it was dominated by larger centers and remained on the fringes of administrative and economic life. Fort Faial, which guarded this stretch of coast, is a memento of its long history. Currently, it is primarily a holiday destination.

Among the attractions that Faial offers to tourists is Faial Beach, which is covered with black sand and gravel. It is well developed and there are swimming pools in its vicinity. The beach is small, surrounded by steep cliffs that fall into the ocean. The best place to admire this part of the coast is the Guindaste viewpoint. There is also a kart track for tourists.
