Local name: Wystawa "Śladami dr. Frankensteina"
Located inside:
Chamber of Regional Memorabilia
Until the end of World War II, Ząbkowice Śląskie was called Frankenstein. In order to bring back that times and pay tribute to the popular book by Mary Shelley and the movie about doctor Frankenstein, the "Following dr. Frankenstein's footsteps" exhibition was established.
The exhibition was opened in 2013. One year later, it was rewarded with the Golden Compass Reward for the best tourist attraction. The museum's main attraction is the recreated laboratory of Frankenstein. It's also dedicated to characters from the Mary Shelley's book and old inhabitants of Ząbkowice Śląskie. The next part of the exhibitions is in the museum's undergrounds. It displays chambers with bones, tombs, strange characters, and specimens of small animals in formalin. The whole is complemented by spotlights, darkness, and disturbing voices coming from the speakers.Less
