Chamber of Regional Memorabilia

Local name: Izba Pamiątek Regionalnych

The oldest manor house in Ząbkowice, already over 500 years old today, houses the Regional Pamphlets in eighteen rooms presenting Silesian furniture, craft, trunks, weapons, old prints, home furnishings, ethnographic exhibits, minerals, sacred and archaeological finds found in Ząbkowice and Documenting the history and culture of the region. You can also see an unusual exhibition entitled Doctor Frankenstein's Laboratory. There are also temporary exhibitions of similar topics.

A typical exterior building was erected in 1504 as the Kauffung's knight's property, but over time changed the owners who rebuilt it. To this day, from the original decor, stucco ceiling, interlocks, chapel room and deep well inside the house are preserved.

Like most of the manor houses, this one in Ząbkowice has its own legend. Apparently the unlucky owner, fearing local residents, left the manor by digging underground tunnels. The same way came to him priests celebrating Sunday Masses. The Prince was cut off, and his wife, with regret for her husband, redeemed his head from the executioner to be closer to his beloved.
