The building complex of the Sejm and Senate of the Republic of Poland is one of the most recognizable complexes in Poland. It is here that the most important decisions for the country are made. The history of the buildings dates back to the beginning of the 20th century.
Since 1918, the moment of establishing the first official seat of the Sejm, the building complex has grown considerably (and is still expanding). The most important buildings and rooms of the complex include: the main building of the Sejm with a representative main hall and the Column Hall, the plenary hall of the Sejm, in which the meetings, the building and the meeting room of the senate are held, as well as the Old and New Deputies' House.
Interestingly, before the first buildings of the complex were adapted as the seat of the Sejm, they functioned as a female school.
In order not to disturb the work of state officials, visiting the Sejm and Senate buildings is possible only during open days, as well as on other dates, but only in organized groups.
