The museum is located in the former gasworks. The exhibition is very varied - exhibits include rotary suction hoses, ammonia scrubbers, automatic counters, lamps, stoves, and even a gas refrigerator. The rooms and furnishings typical of the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries are complemented by the well-equipped rooms.
Gasworks initially produced gas from coal and then passed on to natural gas. On its premises there are production buildings, gas tanks, water tower, fire station, coach and residential buildings.
The museum organizes museum lessons tailored to the age of the audience. They are related mainly to the history of gas industry but also to Poland. Typically, during such lessons are presented prominent figures of Poles and various inventions.
